Showcase of skills
Since starting with the BBC beginning of 2022, I have learnt from scratch how to be a jack of all trades in the media industry.
I have had the pleasure of working on my own range of original pieces that have been adapted into online articles to TV pieces and in some cases multi-platform stories.
I am trained on software such as Final Cut Pro, Dira, Optimo, Open Media, Jupiter and training currently on Quantel.
My ambition is to be a TV or Social Media Reporter or a Presenter, so I have made sure to over a wide range of stories and adapt my skills to the every changing landscape we consume media.
Below is a selection of what you can expect from me as a Journalist, Producer or Presenter.

TV
My TV pieces have been multi-platform and published on local news, BBC South Today 1PM and 6PM, Politics South on Sundays and some have been picked by Network post the original transmission.

First woman ever to complete the Talisman Triathlon.
This piece was sourced from Instagram, originally created as a Digital Video but I pushed for it to be a radio piece too for the local audience. The story was liked so much by the audience and radio listeners, it was then adapted to a TV package for BBC South Today and was broadcasted across 20 other BBC regional radio stations in the UK.

Choir support attendee to raise money for domestic abuse
This piece originated after a conversation with friends. I researched the choir's concert more and found out about Melony, who had a personal connection to the charity. I then arranged to film the piece, edited it and created a digital video. However, I pitched it to TV whilst creating the digi vid, and it was picked up by the Editor to be re-developed into a TV package for the lunchtime and evening programmes on BBC South Today.

Tattoo multi-platform report.
This was a piece of original journalism that I took ownership of from start to finish. It was different from the normal style of TV with down-the-lens filming. Every aspect of this story was completed solely by me, including being filmed on my phone. It was published on all BBC platforms. Click the link to access the full website portfolio.
Trigger warning - discussions of cancer and visuals of body image and needles.
Digital Video
I am able to create short-film digital videos that were published for the BBC's online presence and social media channels.

Articles
This was my first skill learnt as a Journalism Apprentice. I sourced and created original stories - including finding the best interviewees under time constraints. But I have also turned press releases or current topics of conversation into a new story, with a new angle.

Top Original Story
This piece was one of my proudest articles to date. It stemmed from an idea I had while scrolling on my phone in the evening, when I saw Dr Alex George post on his Instagram story about the lack of trust in media organisations creating 'click-bait' headlines for serious mental health stories. He was referencing media outlets and saying that a study that has just been released said anti-depressants don't work.
On my train ride into work, I researched the media stories he was referencing and noticed the study wasn't saying anti-depressants didn't work, just that they don't increase the serotonin hormone.
I decided to pitch an idea to my editor to be released ASAP to myth-bust these headlines and speak to real people to get their reaction and advice from medical experts on what the study actually meant—making a complicated study and subject into a simple and strong piece of journalism.
The piece got a wide range of traction, and Dr Alex George even thanked me personally on his Instagram story for debunking these myths, saying to his 2 million followers that this was "real journalism". A full circle moment for me.
Radio
I have created a few radio packages from my own original stories. In addition, I have done a live two-way on BBC World Service about my House of Dragons trigger warning story and worked on Newsbeat bulletins. All packages were scripted and edited by me.
